We do not sell machines from photos — we inspect them in person. Every DMG we list goes through a documented technical inspection that covers the failure points buyers care about most: Geometric accuracy: Renishaw QC20 ballbar test measuring circularity, reversal spikes, and servo mismatch on X/Y/Z. On 5-axis machines we also run a sphere test to verify B and C axis clamping — radial deviation under 8µm is our acceptance threshold. Spindle health: Taper runout measured at the gauge line with a 0.001mm dial indicator, plus a vibration spectrum analysis at full RPM to detect bearing degradation before it causes failure. Control system: Full diagnostic readout — NC/PLC software versions, active alarms, battery health, parameter backup status. A dead battery on an 840D sl means lost parameters and a €5,000+ service call. We catch this before you buy. Way and ballscrew condition: We remove way covers and inspect guide surfaces. Scoring or flaking on box guideways or pitting on linear rail races is a hard stop for us. You receive the complete inspection report before committing.
