A Universal Machining Centre or (UMC) is a modern piece of machinery which is a hybrid device developed mainly by the Mitsubishi Heavy Industry or (MHI) as it consists of both the parts of a Horizontal Machining Centre (HMC) as well as a Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) making it a multipurpose device as it can be used for drilling, milling, turning and as well as boring.
